Dyna Music began its journey in 1957 as a vinyl record manufacturer in Raon, Manila. By 1959, the company secured the distribution rights for ABC-Paramount Records, showcasing top-billing artists like Paul Anka and Teddy Randazzo.

Expanding its reach, Dyna also acquired distribution rights from other foreign labels, such as EMI Parlophone, Polygram Records, and A&M. As the largest music licensee in the country, Dyna Music became the hub for international hit-makers like Connie Francis, The Platters, Anita Bryant, Jo Ann Campbell, The Beatles, Bee Gees, and ABBA, among others.

Transitioning to support local talent

Dyna Music became the Philippines' first independent music and recording company, nurturing the careers of iconic Filipino artists including Diomedes Maturan, Pilita Corrales, Fred Panopio, Armida Siguion-Reyna, Jose Mari Chan, The Reycard Duet, Nonoy Zuñiga, Verni Varga, Martin Nievera, Claire Dela Fuente, Joey Albert, Keno, and Dingdong Avanzado.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s

The company played a crucial role in the multisectoral campaign against music piracy. Dr. James G. Dy, one of Dyna Music’s key founders, helped lay the groundwork for the Philippine Association of the Recording Industry (PARI) and ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Music Industry Association (AMIA), contributing to the professionalization of the local and regional music industry.

Paving the way for advancements in the industry

Dyna Music proudly operated the only cassette sliding plant in the country during the 1980s. In the following decades, the company maintained a leading position in the manufacturing and distribution markets for CDs and VCDs in the 1990s.

Dyna Music remained dedicated to supporting local artists in the music scene from the 1990s to the 2010s, including Second Wind, Introvoys, After Image, Cynthia Alexander, A2Z, Six Part Invention, and Jake Vargas.

With a history spanning over six decades, Dyna Music continues to move forward, fueled by its passion for music and artistry, all while remaining true to and respectful of its heritage.
